This white paper highlights Picarro’s performance in the DVGW FaMeGQ research project, an independent evaluation of vehicle-based methane detection technologies. Picarro achieved a 96% detection rate in controlled testing and was the only system to detect all 10 methane events during field validation, including two previously unknown leaks. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of Picarro’s advanced mobile leak detection technology and survey methodology, while highlighting how repeated surveys, automated data analysis, and high-precision methane monitoring can support reliable leak detection and broader gas network management.
