OI Analytical Aurora 1030W TOC Analyzer
When a Picarro δ13C-CO2 analyzer is coupled with an OI Analytical Aurora 1030W TOC Analyzer, the system provides δ13C measurements of the dissolved carbon in water samples.
- δ13C in dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) in salt and fresh water by acidification
- δ13C in dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in fresh water by sodium persulfate oxidation
The system is fully automated for the measurement of 88 samples. The OI Analytical Aurora 1030W TOC analyzer is sold separately through OI.
Applications: Analysis of groundwater, surface water, estuaries, sea water, industrial water
Interface to analyzer: Caddy (A2100)
Small Sample Introduction Module 2 (SSIM2)
The SSIM2 expands the measurements that can be made with the Picarro δ13C analyzers for CO2 and CH4.
- Run gas samples as small as 20 ml at ambient CO2 or CH4 concentrations
- Measure microliter volumes of high-concentration samples with built-in dilution capability
- Inject samples by syringe
- Introduce single samples manually, or automatically process up to eight samples using Picarro’s 16-Port Distribution Manifold (A0311)
Applications: Headspace, soil gas, pure CO2 samples, soil flux Interface to analyzer: Direct connections
Automate Prep Device
When a Picarro δ13C-CO2 analyzer is coupled with an Automate FX sample preparation device, the system provides δ13C measurements of the dissolved inorganic carbon in water samples or δ13C in solid carbonate samples. The Automate prep device adds phosphoric acid to the samples to liberate CO2, which flows to the Picarro for δ13C-CO2 analysis.
The system is fully automated for the measurement of 45 samples.
Applications: Analysis of groundwater, surface water, estuaries, sea water, industrial water, biological oceanography, and Earth history
Interface to analyzer: Liaison (A0301)
Closed System Measurement Package
The Closed System Measurement Package enables Picarro analyzers to provide high-precision concentration and isotope ratio measurements for experiments conducted in closed, recirculating systems. The package is designed to prevent the intrusion of ambient air into the measurement system. This includes a pump and gas lines specially adapted for low-leak and low-outgassing operation.
Applications: Soil flux, soil incubator studies, plant chambers
Interface to analyzer: Direct connection
Combustion Module (CM)
The CM enables δ13C measurements of bulk samples — soils or liquid organic materials. The samples are combusted within the CM and the CO2 that is produced flows to a Picarro analyzer to measure δ13C for bulk stable isotope analysis (BSIA).
- High precision
- Fully automated: runs more than 100 replicates in 24 hours while unattended
- Far more economical than IRMS
- Use in the lab or field station
Applications: Food authenticity and safety, plant biology, soil analysis, green chemistry compliance and vector control in public health
Interface to analyzer: Liaison (A0301) or Caddy (A2100)
Costech ECS 4010 Elemental Analyzer
When a Picarro δ13C-CO2 analyzer is coupled with a Costech ECS 4010 Elemental Analyzer, the system provides δ13C measurements of bulk samples — soils or liquid organic materials — in addition to a full suite of elemental analyzer information. Together, the fully automated system is capable of bulk stable isotope analysis (BSIA) for carbon.
The Costech ECS 4010 Elemental Analyzer is sold separately through Costech.
Applications: Food authenticity and safety, plant biology, soil analysis, green chemistry compliance and vector control in public health
Interface to analyzer: Liaison (A0301) or Caddy (A2100)
