Trace gas monitoring plays an important role in many industries. Examples include measuring emission levels for compliance with various regulations, monitoring ambient atmospheres for worker safety and/or process control purposes, and testing/certifying the purity of stock gases whose composition is critical to process yields and quality. Picarro Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy analyzers are used in all these trace gas applications because of their unique combination of performance and operational simplicity, with only minimal operator training required. This performance includes unparalleled sensitivity, linear accuracy, and lack of cross-talk between different trace gases, which also enables a single CRDS analyzer to simultaneously monitor more than one gas species. Just as important, their low drift means there is no requirement for frequent calibration, and is key to using these portable, rugged analyzers in locations with limited accessibility. Picarro currently supplies analyzers for the following trace gases, and various combinations thereof: ammonia (NH3), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), hydrogen fluoride (HF), carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), methane (CH4), Ethylene (C2H4), formaldehyde (CH2O), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2).
