Liaison™: Unique Universal Interface for Bulk 13C Analysis

Couples Picarro's CRDS to various CO2 generating devices

  • Brings isotope analyses to the enormous installed base of front-end systems
  • Provides high precision δ13C analyses
  • Fully-automated and high-throughput
  • Laboratory and field station deployable, easy to install

Liaison enables scientists to connect Picarro's Isotopic CO2 analyzer to commercially-available sample preparation front-ends for bulk stable isotope analysis (BSIA). This capability brings unprecedented ease of use and low cost of ownership to labs unable to invest in the complexity and cost of isotope ratio mass spectrometry (IRMS).

Liaison is uniquely positioned to leverage the high-precision, and low cost of ownership features of Picarro's isotopic CO2 Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy (CRDS) technology into a plethora of applications, that wouldn't otherwise be possible and expand the use of stable isotope techniques into new scientific applications and research initiatives.

Picarro offers a Combustion Module specifically designed for use with the G1101-i Isotopic CO2 system and the Liaison interface. In addition, the Costech 4010 (for combustion of solids, liquids) and the AutomateFx (for DIC applications) are also guaranteed compatible. The Picarro analyzer controls the front-end (including autosamplers) and also manages all gas flow between the CO2 generating system, Liaison and the CRDS instrument.

Liaison will be an ideal solution for a wide range of bulk 13C analysis applications, including food authenticity and safety, plant biology, oceanography, limnology, soil analysis, green chemistry compliance and vector control in public health.
