CRDS Analyzer for H2S in Air - G1104

The Picarro G1104 provides the highest sensitivity and largest dynamic range of any available sensor for monitoring H2S in ambient air. This CRDS-based analyzer operates in real time (seconds), with no requirement for frequent calibration. In addition, the instrument does not suffer from cross-talk due to changes in other ambient gas components, including other trace sulfur compounds such as SO2 and COS, as well as variations in moisture and CO2 at atmospheric levels (see graph). Other advantages are superior linearity (better than 1%), hands-free operation with no need for operator intervention, no consumables, and full accessibility through a standard Ethernet port.

The G1104 H2S Analyzer is idea for in situ applications such as petrochemical plant emissions, in stacks, flares and flues, as well as emissions from landfills, from sewage treatment plants and from wastewater facilities. It can also provide state-of the-art laboratory research on captured samples and model systems.

CRDS Analyzer for H2S in Engine Exhaust - G1104-e

  • Simultaneous, precise measurement of H2S and H2O
  • PPB sensitivity, precision & accuracy with virtually no drift
  • Fast, continuous, real time measurements without interference
  • Large dynamic range with high linearity
  • Field and laboratory deployable with no consumables
  • Installed and operational in minutes
  • Rugged and insensitive to changes in ambient temperature

The continued development and successful commercial development of combustion engines with reduced emissions requires a sensitive quantitative monitor for H2S in exhaust gas. One example is the Lean NOx Trap for reducing NOx emissions, where the H2S concentration is used to monitor the critical desulfation of the trap. The Picarro G1104-e analyzer is fast becoming the tool of choice because it offers a unique combination of speed (seconds), sensitivity (parts per billion), extended dynamic range, and no need for frequent re-calibration, as well as immunity to crosstalk from significant variations in other exhaust species and sulfur compounds. Plus the G1104-e also provides simultaneous measurement of both CO2 and H2O concentrations in real time. This makes it the ideal tool to fully characterize engine emissions over a wide dynamic range, including start/stop, constant load, and freeway test cycles.

As a result, the G1104-e is ideal for studies on both raw and diluted exhaust gas streams. Moreover, the G1104-e is a compact rugged self-contained unit featuring automated operation that requires only a few minutes of training.

Data from Picarro G1104 analyzer showing that even changing CO2 and H2O at the percent level does not affect the H2S reading at the ppbv level.

All Picarro CRDS analyzers are extremely linear and have extremely high dynamic range, as evidenced in this calibration verification from the Picarro G1104 hydrogen sulfide analyzer.
