Health Check Program

Producing World Class research is arduous enough, and worrying about your analyzer’s performance should be the last thing on your mind. Let Picarro perform a Health Check on your analyzer so it can continue to provide reliable performance and unquestionable data.

The Health Check Service is a thorough evaluation and tune-up of your analyzer. Via a remote connection, a Picarro Application Scientist reviews the performance of your analyzer’s mechanical and electrical systems, evaluation and optimization of the operating system and uploading of critical software updates.

The Service includes:

  • Mechanical and electrical systems check:
    Review the performance of over 15 on-board sensors that govern the performance of the analyzer’s critical sub-systems. This thorough review identifies past performance issues and spotlights areas that require further investigation.
  • CRDS scan performance review:
    Check time per scan and the scan profile to ensure ring downs are executed per Picarro specifications.
  • Laser wavelength tuning:
     As the laser ages, the tuning characteristics (current and temperature) change and may require adjustment. Although the instrument self-adjusts, it does so within a limited range. Once outside this adjustment range, a manual adjustment is necessary to re-center these parameters.
  • Hard drive and Operating system optimization:
     Check hard drive capacity, Picarro file system and other Windows configurations that may degrade operating system performance over time and provide you with recommendations for making changes to your files.
  • Software updates:
     Check software version and upload critical update(s) and configuration files recommended for your system.
  • Operational performance review:
    Check that incoming data is consistent with sample type. Health Check is an economical way to improve the performance of your analyzer and detect performance anomalies before they become a bigger concern.

Health Check Service is administered remotely and takes a few hours to complete, minimizing analyzer downtime and disruption to your work schedule. Picarro recommends the Heath Check Service on a biannual basis.
