You will be responsible for building Picarro's business on a global basis, and as such will be responsible for driving profitable top-line growth. Key Responsibilities:
- Creates and actively manages the development of specific sales plans pertinent to specific lines of business and accounts as necessary to reach objectives, profitable growth, and market share/image enhancement.
- Solve client problems by working closely with other members of the sales team and/or properly utilizing the experience within the broader Picarro organization.
- Identify and monitor customer trends in Green House Gas monitoring, Isotopic Water Analysis, CO2 Sequestration and top Picarro market segments. Gather and monitor information on competition, product enhancement ideas and market opportunities.

Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Sunnyvale, CA
Summary:
Plans, directs, and improves manufacturing assembly processes for all of Picarro's instruments. The ME will strive to continuously improve processes in order to achieve optimal efficiency for manufacturing operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.
- Resolve day-to-day production issues that may impede ability to ship quality products on time. Must be an experienced problem solver able to determine root cause of difficult technical issues.
- Supervise and train the production staff to ensure that they are working on the right things to meet the production plan and to make sure productivity remains high.
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement efforts relative to manufacturing operations efficiency and product quality.
- Reduce manufacturing costs by ensuring the highest quality at the best price. Evaluate and qualify new suppliers.
- Optimize product design for lowest cost and highest quality in collaboration with Engineering.
- Support the introduction of new products into manufacturing by working closely with engineering team.
- Establish processes and procedures and create assembly documentation of all project and test data within proper corporate databases.
- Review engineering designs and documentation for completeness, clarity and manufacturability.
- Prepares all required reports and paperwork.
- Assists with related special projects as required.
- Promotes a safe work environment, address corrective actions where hazards are identified and provide recommendations to correct any unsafe practices.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in EE, ME Physics or equivalent
- Three + years experience in a high tech manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience with various types of optical test equipment, including power meters, optical imaging equipment, beam quality test equipment and oscilloscopes
- Understanding and hands-on experience with basic optical elements including lenses, mirrors, polarizer's, apertures, and optical filters, as well as basic optical design and system alignment techniques

Manufacturing Test Technician
Location: Sunnyvale, CA
Description:
Picarro is looking for an experienced test technician for production and prototype system testing. The trace gas analyzer is comprised of an optical cavity and control electronics and hardware. The test technician responsibility will primarily be the testing subassemblies and the integration and testing of the finished analyzer system. Good data analysis skills and attention to detail are essential along with the ability to read instrument output (oscilloscope, power meters, etc.). Beyond these primary responsibilities, the ideal candidate will be capable of a wide range computer skills and hardware debugging capabilities covering a variety of subassemblies of the product.
Qualifications:
- >2 years experience as a system test technician working in a production or prototype environment.
- Experience with instrumentation test

Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Sunnyvale, CA
Description:
The Mechanical Design Engineer (MDE) will play an important role in the development and manufacture of advanced ultra-sensitive, field-deployable, real-time molecular analyzers with parts-per-billion sensitivity, based on an all-optical technique called Wavelength Scanned Cavity Ringdown Spectroscopy (WS-CRDS). The MDE will take a leadership role in the development of new ultra-trace and stable isotope instrumentation and instrument peripherals, maintaining high standards for quality, performance, and ease of use, and high volume manufacturability. In addition, the MDE will be responsible for improving and maintaining tooling and fixturing necessary, with an eye toward process streamlining, touch time reduction, and yield improvement. We are seeking an individual who is comfortable and excited about working in a start-up environment, specifically with regard to working across traditional job boundaries. The MDE will be a key part of a vibrant and innovative technical team comprised of several engineers and scientists. Direct experience in advanced mechanical design and engineering in a manufacturing setting, especially product-level instrument design, is a must. Other skills, such ergonomic / industrial design practices, fluid handling, and/or machine shop experience, is desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical design projects for new product lines and peripherals that are inexpensive, high performance, and highly reliable, and are both easy to use and simple to manufacture, and transfer and support these designs in the manufacturing environment.
- Work with our manufacturing team to continually improve manufacturing efficiency and throughput, and reduce operator touch time, through the design and manufacture of improved tooling and fixtures.
- Make continual improvements to our standard product line which reduce cost, improve manufacturability, improve performance, and/or increase the reliability and robustness of our product. Qualifications:
- > 4 years experience in mechanical design engineering. Experience in instrument design for volume production is strongly preferred.
- Expert proficiency in a 3-D CADD design software package is required. Experience in SolidWorks strongly preferred.
- Strong communications skills are essential, both written and oral.
- Must possess the ability to work across functional boundaries and organizational levels inside the company.
- Minimum education is a B.S. in mechanical engineering or design.

Opto-mechanical Technician
Location: Sunnyvale, CA
Description:
Picarro is looking for an experienced opto-mechanical technician for production and prototype optical assembly builds. The optical assembly is comprised of an external cavity and several optical components (lenses, prisms, and detectors) which are to be placed during active optical alignment using the output from typical fiber coupled 1550 nm telecom DFB laser. Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail are essential along with the ability to read instrument output (oscilloscope, power meters, beam profiler, video camera) during the placement of critical optical components. Beyond these primary skills, the ideal candidate will be capable of a wide range of assembly procedures covering a variety of subassemblies of the product.
Qualifications:
- >2 years experience as opto-mechanical technician working in a production or prototype environment.
- Experience with active optical alignment procedures
- Experience with optical and electrical instrumentation (oscilloscope, power meter, power supplies)
- Experience with UV and thermally cured epoxy attach procedures of optical components
